I am Sebastian, a photographer, filmmaker, speaker and adventurer from Cologne, Germany.

Growing up as a twin in a busy, dense urban area my body got used to the confinement, hustle and noise of the busy streets. However, with maturing my mind figured out that my balance lies in the vastness of nature, off the beaten track, on new paths, usually alone. Alone in the silence of nature, I repeatedly experience that my inner voice becomes more tangible and emotions more perceptible when external distractions are deliberately reduced. As much as I feel and experience special encounters with nature and humans in the moment, I also manage to transfer these with my utmost passion and devotion to people through my imagery.

My passion for photography evolved back in 2016 while I studied my Masters degree in Southeast Asia. I soon realized that photos and videos are capable of telling stories that don't need words. They serve as a window into my adventures and make the invisible visible: Emotional, honest, overwhelming and real.

After completing my Masters degree in health economics, I quickly made it into management at a large consultancy company. However, upon reaching this step, I then chose my own, very unconventional path:

Instead of aiming for the next career steps in the corporate business world, I greatly reduced my working hours and shifted my focus to photography and film. In 2021, I then was discovered at a small speaker event and shortly afterwards I stood on stage in live shows  all over Germany, inviting people to dive with me into my travel stories. Full of authenticity, ease and honesty, I give new impulses and pair unadulterated perspectives with impressive, inspiring visual imagery. 

 

Today, I master the contradictory balancing act between management consultancy and self-employment. I specialize in landscape, outdoor and travel photography, produce short films, work with modern outdoor brands and tourism associations, am involved in several books and outdoor projects, lead photo workshops, present my photos in galleries and appear as a speaker. My aim is to show the beauty and fragility of our world and to inspire people to explore nature, take unconventional paths and experience adventure. 

 

My visual worlds and lectures are an emotional invitation to see the world with different eyes and to appreciate the beauty of the moment.​ ​
